St Salvator's Chapel Choir US Tour
We are delighted to announce that St Salvator’s Chapel Choir, the flagship choir of the University of St Andrews, will be touring the East Coast of the United States in March, giving performances in New York City, Princeton, NJ and Washington DC.
This is the first time the choir has visited the States, offering our US alumni, parents and the wider public a rare opportunity to hear its brand of vocal performance, recently described as “both thrilling and yet meditative, energetic yet sensitive”.
The choir’s history extends to the founding of the University in the early fifteenth century. Today, its thirty students perform a repertoire that spans the six centuries of the University’s existence. In addition to chapel services, the choir enjoys a busy schedule of concerts, broadcasts and recordings, and has given many world premieres.
This is a particularly exciting time for the choir – as well as the US tour it will also visit the Netherlands later in 2015, and in April will launch its own CD label, Sanctiandree Records.
We would also like to invite you to join other alumni and friends of the University at our private reception, taking place after the choir's performance at Evensong at the Washington National Cathedral.
Please also note that there is no charge for attendance at any of the concerts or performances, only for the receptions. Ticket prices are to cover costs and raise funds for the choir.
